Goebel Park – Covington, KY

Clock Tower

This is a small city park.  There is a small, very basic playground, a large covered picnic area, and some grassy areas.  The area around the clock tower has benches.  The park has a very rich history!  The clock used to play the story of the pied piper with figures.  I could not find anything about it running since 2004.  I did find something from the city of Covington that said they were working on getting it operational again.  Even without the show, the clock is still impressive.  There is a small path that leads past the large Covington sign.  The beginning part that you walk down to see the sign is not too bad but as you get down the hill the path gets a little messed up.  We hit some really bad blacktop before turning back due to flooding at the bottom of the valley. This park is right by Mainstrass.  Many interesting festivals, bars, restaurants, and architecture can be found in Covington!
