My Favorite Christmas Ornaments

My Favorite Christmas Ornaments

We have multiple ornaments from our travels. It is one of the few souvenirs we allow ourselves to collect. We try to choose ones that really represent the place we visited or something that was special to us during our visit.

This one came off of my grandparents tree. We spent Christmas Eve there every year. All the kids and grandkids would be there. We gathered around the tree. This huge family, all crammed into one room. There was so much commotion, laughing, talking, and love. After they both passed away, I added a single ornament from their tree to our collection. It makes me smile every year and holds a place of honor toward the top of our tree.

This was my first Christmas ornament. This one my sister made me when she was little. We are over eleven years apart. I was moving out right after Christmas. She is now in her twenties and it’s still on my tree every year.

My husband and oldest got this ornament for me when she was little. They recorded Merry Christmas and I love you on it. They forgot to put a picture in it and it has become an inside family joke. Every year I pull it out and say “Who’s this kid?”

My most favorite ornaments are the ones that my children have made over the years. I love looking at all the things they have so lovingly crafted for me. I know I will treasure these forever.

What are your favorite ornaments?
