November 2019 – End of Month Review

November Goals

  • Work on Suburban
  • Save Money
  • Work on the House
  • Facebook Yard Sale

I can’t believe it’s already the end of November! This month flew by. We were very busy and actually got a ton accomplished but I still feel like we are behind. There is just so much to do before our goal date! I have started a running list on my phone that I can update as we finish things or think of other things that we need to do.

Michael put the new radio in the Suburban. It’s so much nicer! We bought the dog ramp for Jack. We had the cracked windshield replaced. Michael cleaned the inside of it and sprayed it to help get rid of the smell of cigarette smoke. It definitely looks and smells much nicer already. We are looking for the right name for the Suburban. We have a few ideas but we are still getting to know her.

We did decently at saving money in November. We hit our goal of $500 a week toward trip-related expenses/savings. Most of it is being spent on things that we will need in the future and household repairs/improvements.

We spent a lot of time this month working on our house. We finished painting our living room, kitchen, and dining area. We decluttered some more. We did some serious cleaning. We made a list of all the things that we need to finish before we attempt to sell our house. The more we get done, the more likely we are to sell the house for the right price.

I went through a ton of clothing and organized it by sizes. I posted a couple of things on the Facebook yard sale but not much. I had a few people come over to go through clothing and managed to get a few more bags out of the house. We also dropped a large bag of items off to a local charity.

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving with family. We hosted this year and it was so nice to have our house full of loved ones. I will miss those special moments when we are on the road. We are trying to come up with ideas for ways to stay connected with family. We know that we will call, text, and video chat with everybody a ton but that’s different than visiting. We are flirting with the idea of renting an Airbnb or something for Thanksgiving or Christmas for all of us to get together.

Our one big downfall of November was that we neglected the blog. We were so busy that we stepped away from social media, the blog, and all things electronic. This really hurt our views and we have to make sure to stick to our blog schedule going forward. We plan to get back on track for December.

Trip Countdown: 288 days to go!

  1. I am really loving the theme/design of your web site.
Do you ever run into any internet browser compatibility problems?
A small number of my blog readers have complained about my site not operating correctly in Explorer but looks great in Firefox.
Do you have any ideas to help fix this problem?

  2. I’m truly enjoying the design and layout of your blog.
It’s a very easy on the eyes which makes it much more pleasant
for me to come here and visit more often. Did you hire out a designer to create your theme?
    Great work!
