May Goals 2019 – End of the Month Review

May Goals

  • Pay off Loan #2
  • Set Up a New Savings Account
  • Declutter
  • Sell Stuff/Donate
  • Walk/Hike 2x a Week

We owed $2,000 on Loan 2 at the beginning of the month. We have been working on paying it off. This was a busy month but we were able to save enough money to pay this off. We couldn’t be more excited!

We didn’t have a chance to set up our new savings account. We’ll do it in June.

We did some more decluttering. We minimized our youngest girl’s toys and clothing. It has helped to make a big difference in the cleanliness of our house. We have a ton of arts and crafts items, science kits, and “toys” that will be used up over the summer. We have a bunch of bubble wands, sidewalk chalk, and playdough that will be used over the summer. The girls will have more time for crafts, painting, coloring books, and the overabundance of kits that we have sitting in a closet. We have stopped the inflow of all these kind of items for now. I didn’t want to get rid of these kinds of things because I know they will get used within the next year.

We did drop some stuff off for donation but we mainly threw a lot of stuff away. We got rid of a lot of broken/worthless items this month. We didn’t sell anything. I never posted anything. I’m really bad at this part of decluttering.

We have been walking and hiking often, at least twice a week. We have been to the park to walk the trails multiple times, spent a day wandering in a Museum, spent a few hours walking around a mall, and walked around our neighborhood. We are trying to get into better shape so that we aren’t miserable when we first leave on our trip. We will be doing a lot of walking and hiking and want to be completely prepared. I walk a ton at work and Michael has a physically demanding job. Our girls are all in decent shape but aren’t used to walking long distances.
