June Goals 2019

June Goals 2019

June Goals

  • Octavia’s Third Birthday
  • Season/Year Passes
  • Declutter
  • Yard Sale/Donate
  • Work On Our House
  • Continue Learning about Homeschooling

This is the first month that we don’t have debt on our goal list. We still have our student loans but have decided that we aren’t paying them off right now. We are going to continue paying the payments and set aside enough to pay the payments for a year while we travel. We will work on paying them off after we save enough to buy the SUV, travel trailer, and have the savings we need for our trip and expenses.

My sweet baby is turning three this month. I will be ugly crying over that. Why do they grow up so fast? We are having a party for her at home in our backyard. She has asked for a bike and a pig cake with a candle for her birthday. We have invited close family and friends over. It will be a very laidback celebration.

I am taking the weekend off for her party so I will have a 12-day staycation with my kids. We will be going to a few places. We are considering a season or year pass to somewhere that I can take the kids. We are thinking about a pass to a zoo, aquarium, or museum. This would make it cheaper to take the kids out more often. We have also discussed only going to places that are cheap or free this summer.

We will continue to declutter our belongings. We have decided to get down to the bare minimum soon. This will allow us to really enjoy our last year here. I don’t want to keep thinking about how much stuff we still need to get rid of or slowly working through it. We have been plugging along slowly ridding ourselves of things for the last year. We are now at the point that we don’t want to keep slowly working toward minimalism until we leave. We want to finish it once and for all. We want to decide exactly what we plan to store and set those items away. We have stopped bringing new things into our home unless they are needed. We have agreed to keep/buy only the things we truly need/want. During this process, we have realized that we are happier and less stressed with fewer possessions. We are ready to fully embrace minimalism.

We are planning to have a couple of yard sales this month. We will likely need to have more in the future but this will be a good start. Isabella is really excited for some reason and can’t wait to help. We have all agreed that any money we make will go toward our savings.

We will be doing some serious work on our house this summer/fall including a new fence, interior paint, kitchen cabinets, countertops, and new flooring. Home improvements and savings will be our financial goals for a while.

I want to read a few more books about homeschooling this month. I’m starting to piece together how we want to homeschool based on what is best for our individual children and our traveling lifestyle. We need to keep our possessions small while on our trip and this includes homeschooling supplies. I have a notebook where I have been keeping notes while reading various books and blogs. I have a list dedicated to the supplies that we will absolutely need. Everything on that list has been thought about long and hard. I will share that with you in a future post once I’m certain it’s complete.

I’ll keep you updated on the journey before the journey each month! What are you working on this month? Share it with me below!

    1. Maybe start with just one goal a month. You can add more as you get better about not procrastinating.
