Popin’ Cookin’ DIY Candy Kit for Kids – Tanoshii Cakes
It’s summertime and we are looking for things to keep the girls busy. We picked up this kit recently at a local Japanese grocery store for Isabella, 9 years old, to do. We talked about our entire Japanese snack haul in this post – Here!
Isabella was able to do this kit with very little direction. Everything you need is in the kit except water. This is so nice! I hate when I get things for the kids to do and then there is a list of additional things that they need. It was a little messy but came off of our old wood table easily enough.
The tray that comes with it has a small measuring cup for the water, a small spatula for stirring, and a mixing area so that there weren’t even any dirty dishes afterward. It comes with a one-time use icing bag to make the ice cream cones look cute.
There were sprinkles and small pieces of candy to decorate the finished products. The whole thing took a little over an hour and resulted in a snack. Isabella wasn’t a fan of the taste but her little sister happily came to the rescue to eat the rest of them.
These kits are perfect when you need to occupy a school-age child with no time or effort for prep.
