Continue Declutter/Minimizing Belongings

We still have a ton of decluttering and minimizing to do. We’re still amazed by how much stuff we have accumulated over the seven years we have lived here. Our goal is to be done with the majority of our decluttering by April. We will not complete our minimizing until we get ready to leave. This is simply because we have the additional space now that we will not later. Since we are no longer buying so many things, items will begin to minimize themselves with use and time. Some of the things we are currently not buying include hair products, soap, craft items, art supplies, books, toys, clothing, towels, kitchen items, toothpaste, nail polish, lotion, and decorations. Basically, if we don’t absolutely need something, we aren’t buying it.

Eat Healthy/Dietary Changes

We have decided to make some pretty large health changes this month including starting a healthier diet. Nothing too crazy or extreme. We plan to cut out sugar, red meat, and processed food. More vegetables, more fruit, whole grains, and lean meat are the basis of our diet plans. Our main goal is to be healthier.

Work on Our House

We have quite a few things to finish before selling the house this summer. We hope to knock at least one thing off the list this month. Our kitchen cabinets or basement would both be good options. I’ll let you know what we decide on. Maybe I’ll do some before and after posts of our projects. Is that something you would be interested in?

Continue Planning Our Trip

I have gotten into the habit of doing a little trip planning during the evening. It’s exciting but also oddly relaxing. I can roll up on the sofa with my binder and daydream. Michael and the girls give me recommendations whenever they come across something. I read guidebooks and blogs, look around online, and watch vlogs. It varies by the night. If I find things of interest, I put it in our trip binder.

Read Three Books

I want to finish You Are a Badass. I’m about halfway through it. The plan is to read two more books after that. I have a ton of books on my TBR list. I’ll probably just pick two off of my unread shelf so I can downsize them after I read them.

Blogging/Vlogging

We are going to work hard to keep up with our posting goals of three times a week on the blog and monthly on Youtube. I’m trying to learn everything I can about SEO. Unfortunately, writing a post optimized for SEO takes much longer to write but it’ll be worth it in the long run. Most things get much easier and faster with practice and I’m sure this is no different. We have a list of goals that we hope to hit before we leave for our trip. We will continue working on figuring things out so that we can do our best to share our trip with all of you lovely people.

  1. Great goals! Very achievable and realistic, which I think are the best kind. I made subtle changes towards a more vegetarian diet couple years back and the effect it has had on my overall health and wellbeing is noticeable. Good luck with these goals! 🙂

    1. Thank you! I think subtle diet changes are the way to go unless there are major health issues related to your diet. I’m glad it has worked well for you!

  2. You have so many wonderful goals that feel really well-rounded in terms of what you want to accomplish across various aspects of your life! I’ve been really itching to do a declutter and have been trying to work on my diet, too…. but I’m so impressed by the changes you want to make to yours.

Do you have any posts chronicling how cutting out sugar has been for you? That is my weakness.

    1. We are very new to all of this but I think we will do some updates on our diet changes. Check back soon. Thanks!

  3. These are some great goals. Decluttering is such a satisfying activity. I did a huge decluttering project in our home not long ago but I still regularly go through our things and often find one or two items that we no longer need. I read You Are A Badass last year and thought it was pretty good. Good luck with all of your goals.

    1. Thanks! I’m hoping I can get our house feeling like that before we meet with the realtor in April. It’s still unreal that we are really selling our house to go on this trip.
