May Goals 2019

May Goals 2019

May Goals

  • Pay off Loan #2
  • Set Up a New Savings Account
  • Declutter
  • Sell Stuff/Donate
  • Walk/Hike 2x a Week

We still owe $2,000 on Loan #2. We hope to knock it out this month. We have a few medical bills that have come in that we need to pay this month too. We really want to be done with all of these so we can start moving forward with the other parts of our plan. We will still have a student loan payment but nothing else except basic household bills. We couldn’t have dreamed of pulling off the next few things on our goal list before we paid off all those stinking credit cards. After this loan is paid off, we will start saving and watching for a good deal on the SUV that we will be taking on our trip.

We want to set up a better savings account that we can easily move money into from our checking account. We currently have a couple of accounts but we don’t love them. I think we can do better.

We are going to continue decluttering our home. I want to try selling some stuff this month. I’m not sure if I’m going to try something online, an app, a yard sale, or a consignment shop. We will likely donate some more stuff too.

We want to start getting more exercise. We need to get ready physically before leaving next year. None of us are prepared for the amount of hiking that we plan to do when we leave. We don’t want to spend the beginning of our trip completely miserable so we have started walking on the trails at our local parks. We plan to start taking more difficult hikes as our ability improves.

What are your goals for this month? We’d love to hear about it below.

  1. My main goal for May is to save £300 which I’m hopefully going to achieve by stepping up my survey game! I’m also thinking of selling a few of my clothes and bits that I don’t use at the moment but need to crack on with this really….
I’m also going to open a new savings account, currently looking at a company called Shawbrook as they seem to offer the best interest rates!

  2. Awesome goals!

We have similar… keep paying down debt. I’m always decluttering. (It magically reappears 🤷🏻‍♀️)
    Good luck!

  3. Good luck with your goals for the month. It is great that you’re paying off your second loan. I like hearing about people’s financial goals and beating them. This is a great time to start exercising. The weather is nice and it’s beach season, hehe. Otherwise, it’s the perfect time to start hiking. Sending you positive vibes to conquer these goals!

  4. These are great goals. Good luck with them. Decluttering is great, I’ve been doing it for a while now and it has made a huge improvement to our home and makes us feel better. I hope you are able to sell what you want to, some people have lots of success with that and others, like me, have little to no success. But even donating is wonderful to do and it means you no longer have that stuff taking up space.

    1. Thank you for your kind words. I’m glad that decluttering has been good for you.

    1. Thanks for stopping by and for your kind words! I’m blessed with good eaters. Makes travel so much easier!

  5. 🙂 Our front porch needs a major dusting (oak pollen!!). The wicker could use a fresh coat of paint. And, I have to figure out a place to move two humongous planters to get them away from the deer.

    1. Deer are beautiful but they can do a number on plants. Hopefully you can get them moved some place they can’t get to them. 🙂 Thanks for stopping by!

  6. My goal is to declutter the house. We don’t have any debt, we own everything and it is a great feeling as you will see! Sounds like a fantastic plan! Good luck!

  7. Great goals! Where are you going on your trip?
Best wishes with this month. I am trying to lose the last few pounds, which has proven to be a beast.

    1. We are leaving in fall of 2020 to travel long term with our kids. We are starting with RVing around the United States & Canada. Those last few pounds are always the hardest to lose. Good luck!

  8. Finish my novel manusript so my friend can read it. Get ready for holiday with Team H, more tidying up gwetting ready for work on house. Have the garden as flowery as possible.

  9. Congrats on your journey, glad to see through your blog how you’ve been keeping it up. Very inspiring. There’s always something coming up that needs payment or attention in our lives, so our goal is to keep things manageable and keep our debt in available credit ratio below 30%. We have a small biz so we just set up a 401K to save with–that was exciting. It’s hard to find good savings accounts out there. ING and U Bank have some interesting deals. I will be looking into those as well as trying to keep a better diet for me and my family!

    1. Running a small biz is interesting. My husband is self employed. It makes budgeting hard at times too. Setting up a 401K can be a pain. Hopefully it wasn’t too eventful. Thanks for stopping by & your kind words!
