Must-See Huge Wooden Playground at Leonardo’s Children’s Museum in Enid, OK

Come for the huge wooden playground and stay for all the neat indoor activities at Leonardo’s Children’s Museum in Enid, Oklahoma! We were in the area meeting and visiting extended family. I did a quick search before we left and the number 1 thing to do was this museum. By chance, a family member we were visiting with asked if we wanted to go. After seeing the place, I can see why it’s the top thing to do in the area.

The parking lot is next to the outdoor playground and across the street from the main part of the museum. You have to go into the main building first to pay and get stamped. My husband’s cousin was nice enough to treat all of us but I will include the prices from the website at the bottom in the info section. We were outside in the heat before going here so we wanted to spend some time in the air conditioning.

There are two floors of fun! They have a playground area in the center for the kids to climb in. The first floor included a lot of STEM exhibits, a baby/toddler area, and a seating area for adults. The girls played down here for a little while before we went across the street. Isabella was in her zone and had fun building things.

The huge wooden playground was amazing! It was built by volunteers which makes it even more impressive. We all had a blast. I loved that parents were able to play on the equipment too. Bouncing on the bridge, swinging on the tire swing, and climbing the wooden structures was a great way to spend a few hours. It was much hotter than we had expected. The girls didn’t make it as long as they normally would have before asking to go back across the street.

We spent the rest of our time on the second floor. My girls were so excited about this area! There was a bed of nails that we all took turns laying on except Octavia. It was much more comfortable than I would have expected. There was a grocery store, a deli, and bakery in the back corner that the kids loved. That kind of stuff is right up their alley.

There was a dentist office set up next to the grocery area. This was one of Octavia’s favorite things. Next to that was a doctor/hospital area with a giant Operation game. It was so neat!

There was also a bank, a gardening area, a farmer’s market, an art area, and even more. This is one of the cleanest Children’s Museums I have visited. We wish we had more time to explore this place and we plan to return on our next trip to Enid.

  1. Wow, this looks like an incredible place to take the kids for the day! I love things like that that encourage kids to get out, play and be hands-on!
