First Time at Build-A-Bear For Octavia’s Birthday Surprise

This month was Octavia’s third birthday. We took her to Build-a-Bear as part of her birthday gift. This was her first time building something there and we weren’t sure how she would do. We wanted to at least make her birthday bear since they have the “Pay Your Age” thing still going on. Her birthday bear was only $3.

When they found out it was her birthday, they gave her a special birthday crown and sticker. This is such a cute little thing that helped make it an even better experience. She kept her sticker and put it on her special toy box. She had a great time!  She really got into the process of it. She loved kissing and patting the little heart. This is such a fun special outing for little kids.

She fell in love with the Unicorn and ended up getting both.  She is currently obsessed with Unicorns. She calls them Tunitorns and that’s what she named her new friend.

They were running a special of “Buy one full price, get one for $10” so Isabella ended up finally getting the Toothless that she has been wanting for months. She has done this before but still really enjoyed making her new friend.

After the girls were done with the stuffing station, we went to the brushing and air bath station. Octavia loved brushing her Unicorn so much that we ended up buying her a brush to take home. The poor thing has been brushed so much!

We got a special birthday shirt for her birthday bear. She drags the “Tunitorn” around the house with her. She ended up naming the birthday bear simply “Bear.” It has earned a special place on her bed with the super soft, baby Eeyore.

The stuffed animals come in boxes that you can take home to color and use as their house. The girls did this the following two days as their afternoon activity.

Our final thoughts on Build-a-Bear are that it’s a great place to take kids for a special occasion. Their stuffed animals are fairly large and very well made. They are reasonably priced for the animal and experience. If you want to go back on a separate occasion but don’t want to buy another stuffed animal, you can buy items for your bear. They have loads of clothing and accessories. This isn’t something I would do often because of the space taken up and the expense but it was a fun birthday surprise.
