10 Halloween Movies on Netflix To Get You in the Spirit

There are so many options to get you in the Halloween spirit currently on Netflix!

1.) Gremlins

PG 1984, A man brings home a cute creature as a Christmas present for his son that spawns a horrifying army of devilish — and dangerous — little beasts.

This movie is a cult classic that’s part Halloween and part Christmas movie. It’s has a lot of jump scares that could be a lot for small kids.

2.) Coraline

PG 2009, Curious, young Caroline unlocks a door in her family’s home and is transported to a universe that strangely resembles her own — only better.

This movie is one of those “things are not always as they seem” films. It’s rated PG and definitely has some really scary moments that are not appropriate for sensitive children.

3.) Casper

PG 1995, A doctor who specializes in ghosts is hired by an heiress to rid a mansion of spirits, but his daughter befriends a friendly ghost that lives there.

This movie is a Family Halloween Classic! A good family movie night with a few scary moments.

4.) Scream Series – Scream

R 1996, A year after her mother’s brutal murder, a high school girl and her friends are stalked by a serial killer who’s obsessed with horror movies.

This has become an iconic Halloween film. There are follow-up movies and even television shows after this movie. The first, third, and fourth movies are on Netflix. For some reason, Scream 2 is currently missing. Maybe they’ll get it later. The MTV show Scream is on Netflix as well.

5.) Goosebumps 2

PG 2018, Three teens spend their Halloween trying to stop a magical book, which brings characters from the “Goosebumps” novels to life.

I loved the first movie which is not currently on here. This one was good too. There are many related Goosebumps shows to enjoy on Netflix.

6.) Little Monsters

PG 1989, Brain knows there are creatures under his bed. When he faces his fears and confronts them, however, he makes some hilariously weird new friends.

An oldy but a goody.

7.) My Babysitter’s a Vampire The Movie

TV-PG 2010, When their parents head out for the evening, Ethan and his little sister get the babysitter of their nightmares: a fledgling vampire named Sarah.

This one might take you back! It’s the questionable teen acting and plotline of your dreams. This really is the perfect Halloween show to watch with your 9-year-old or mock with your friends. So much fun! The show that followed is also on Netflix if you need more.

8.) Hotel Transylvania 3 – Summer Vacation

PG 2018, It’s love at first sight for Dracula when he meets Ericka, the charming but mysterious captain of the monster cruise that Mavis plans for the family.

I loved the first two but we haven’t had time to watch this one yet.

9.) The Sixth Sense

PG-13 1999, When a 9-year-old boy inexplicably starts seeing dead people, he lands in the care of a child psychologist who’s determined to uncover the truth.

This movie was probably one of the first truly scary movies I watched. It lingers and messes with you for ages!

10.) All Hallows’ Eve

TV-G 2016, Instead of summoning the spirit of her dearly departed mother, a charming teen accidentally awakens a vengeful witch who wants to destroy her town.

What movies would you add? Have you seen any of these? What did you think? Leave me a comment below.

    1. I completely agree! Harry Potter falls under the same umbrella but we decided that it was more Christmas 😂
