Winter/Christmas Bucketlist in Cincinnati, Ohio

Winter/Christmas Bucketlist in Cincinnati, Ohio

We love Christmas fun! This will likely be our last Winter/Christmas living in the Cincinnati area and we don’t know what next year will be like. We want to get in all the holiday vibes that we possibly can! Some of this bucket list is simply holiday and winter things. Some of it is destinations that we want to visit in Cincinnati or surrounding areas.

.) Decorate for the holidays – Decorate the large tree, decorate the countertop in the dining room with our tiny trees, put lights on the outside of the house, decorate the windows, and the tables

.) Advent Calendar – I put fun things to do in the advent calendar drawers and it’s sitting on the dining room counter as part of the decorations.

.) Festival of Lights at the Cincinnati Zoo – We went to this years ago and loved it. It is included with the yearly zoo pass that we decided to buy at the beginning of summer. We want to make sure that we go at least once this holiday season, if not twice.

.) The Christmas Ranch – We went to the Christmas Ranch when I was pregnant with Octavia and we loved it. We want to make the effort to go again this year. It is mostly outside so we are going to try to find an evening with decent weather to go.

.) A Zinzinnati Holiday at Krohn Conservatory – We have never done this before but it looks super fun and it’s indoors. I’m always on the lookout for inexpensive, fun things to do with the girls during the week and this came up while searching.

.) Christmas Nights of Lights at Coney Island – We did this last year and loved it. There are two and a half miles of light to drive through. We plan to bring thermoses of hot chocolate this year. You can read about last year Here!

.) Neighborhood Christmas Lights Drives – We plan to drive through multiple neighborhoods in Cincinnati and northern Kentucky to check out light displays. We found some lists of cool houses online last year and had a blast tracking them down. Nothing like a fun adventure!

.) Christmas Crafts – I have a list of fun holiday crafts that I can’t wait to make with the girls.

.) Holiday in Lights at Sharon Woods – What can I say? We really love the lights! They decorate the park to drive through and have a Santa Villiage. It sounds like a lot of fun!

.) Play in the Snow – I hate snow but it is fun to play with.

.) Bake Cookies – Cookies and Christmas just go together.

.) Hot Chocolate – Big mugs of hot, chocolatey love!

.) Watch Christmas Movies – We love Holiday movies from kid’s to love stories. A movie marathon would be a great way to spend a day.

.) Listen to Christmas Carols – We will spend an obnoxious amount of time listening to festive tunes this month.

.) Visit Santa – We have visited the mall Santa each year since we moved here. We want to continue that tradition this year. This is the first year that Octavia is old enough to enjoy visiting Santa.

.) Christmas Cards – Write heartfelt Christmas cards to our close family members. Is there anything better than spreading a little love?

.) Make Chili – A big bowl of hot chili is perfect on a cold day and it’s a great excuse to use the slow cooker.

.) Make a Gingerbread House – We make one every year and it’s a great way to spend an evening.

.) Christmas Shopping – The girls and I typically make a day of shopping for any gifts that I haven’t ordered online. It’s so much fun to spend the time with them, carefully selecting the perfect gift for everybody on our list.

.) Donate Toys – Giving to those less fortunate always feels so good.

.) Read Christmas Stories – There are so many good ones that I can’t wait to share with my kids.

.) Wrap Christmas Gifts – We spend a day wrapping gifts together and tying pretty bows.

.) Make Special Gifts for the Grandparents – The little girls want to make special gifts for their grandparents this year. We have a few ideas but we’re not completely sure what we are making yet.

.) Do a Puzzle Together – When the weather gets bad, we love doing a puzzle together. There’s something special about gathering around the table and chatting while fitting pieces together.

.) Spend Time with Loved Ones – This is the most important part of the holiday season!
